SDP Service Delivery Platform

Toward the next generation SDP

Since the introduction of Next Generation Network (NGN) commercial service, voice, Internet access, mobile, and broadcasting services have been developed separately. Recently, however, this has started to change as these services are integrated with IP technology. High-speed wireless access technologies such as HSPA (High Speed Packet Access), WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access), and LTE (Long Term Evolution) are gradually making a ubiquitous broadband technology network a reality.
Hitachi's next generation SDP envisions the following:
  1. Support of diversified broadband access networks, and provision of voice, data, broadcasting, and network control value-added services to a variety of user terminals
  2. Exposure of network functions to third parties using Web service technology, thereby offering new value to Internet applications across a range of industries
  3. The next step in the integration of separate networks, such as voice, data and broadcasting, as a merger of services at the media level - the realization of a media and service convergence that is connected at the application level
  4. A combination of services and databases specific to network operators with Internet Web services, and the realization of advanced telecom and Web integration
In the new generation of communication networks, Hitachi continues to do pioneer research and development for the SDP market, and takes pride in its contributions to the global society with the creation of value-added services incorporating state-of-the-art technologies.
